Question
The goal of BetsyJilka.com was to promote Betsy Jilka, a New York City actor and singer, to agents and producers.
Answer
BetsyJilka.com is an easily skimmed expanded actor's resume, which further highlights Betsy's strengths and brand as an actor.
Process
I began the design of the site by sitting with Betsy and discussing what she imaged for her website. It was my goal to clearly establish a target audience and an aim for influencing that audience. Furthermore, I wanted to begin the establishment of the Betsy Jilka brand, so I encouraged Betsy to describe her actor persona and show me objects she owned that she thought embodied her conceptions.
Next, I created several visual and interactive solutions that I thought answered Betsy's needs. After discussing those options with Betsy, I was ready to build out the system. It was important for me to create a system that Betsy could easily update herself, so I created a custom content management system where Betsy could upload new pictures and quickly update all of the text on her site.
